Winemaking

Sticks wines embody the true regional characters of the Yarra Valley. Aimed at being lively on the palate and a fruit driven wine style, we source our fruit in parcels ranging from 5 - 40 tonnes from premium growers across the Yarra Valley.

The various micro climates in the valley impact the style of fruit and subsequently the diversity of the wines themselves.

The Upper Valley region, grown on red soil, is a higher altitude and cooler temperature and therefore produces fruit that is more refined, delicate and elegant than of that grown on the warmer Valley floor vineyard sites.

The Valley floor, with its warmer temperatures and clay based soil, shows more structural fruit with bigger tannins and more roundness to the fruit, offering a richer texture.

Our use of French oak is that of medium toast levels and tight grain selection, giving a more refined finish to the wines.
